Jim
has been licensed by the state of
Texas since 1993 and is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association
(AMTA). In 1993 he attended the Austin School of Massage Therapy. In 1999 and
2000 he received advanced massage training from the Lauterstein-Conway Massage
School in Austin. Licensed Massage Therapist, LMT, is now the official
designation of what used to be Registered Massage Therapists in Texas, RMT,
since in 2006 the State of Texas changed that designation for all RMTs in Texas.
He has lived in Austin most of his
life and considers himself a native
Texan. He follows a philosophy that "a massage therapist is a facilitator of massage,
as meaningful change must comes from within. Music is a great aid to help
relax and reduce stress, in massage therapy and by itself."
My highest concern is
your wellbeing and comfort. I have been a
massage therapist for over 12 years. I am also a professional member of the
AMTA, American Massage Therapy Association, which requires more massage training
than the state requires. To contact the Texas Department of State Health
Services call (512) 834-6616.
To contact the AMTA call
1-877-905-2700.
I have quite a number of female
clients that feel safe and secure with me. I would be happy to provide you with
some names and phone numbers of some of my female clients for references.
"Working for a high tech company
in Austin, before I became a masseur, created stress and anxiety. There I met a
young man who’s attitude was responsible, calm and controlled, but not in a
controlling manner. He helped me through stressful times with encouragement and
a massage that gave me insight into a depth of calm and relaxation I never knew,
quickly and effectively! Feeling refreshed and renewed, my face even enjoyed a
release of tension and anxiety! My friend has since moved, but I will never
forget him or the impact massage can have on one’s health, attitude and life!"
As
humans we can use our hands to reduce stress and bring relief to one another.
I
vary my massages according to what the client prefers and ask for feedback to
help insure your needs are being met. Through feedback, intuition, experience,
and advanced training, I strive to go beyond cold clinical massage. I prefer to meet the client's nurturing
needs and remain well within personal
boundaries, comfort and trust that a therapeutic massage offers.
Allowing
yourself the freedom to completely relax, to open up, to take in
the breath of life and to breathe out the sigh of relief, can easily melt away stress,
tension and anxiety. This allows the massage to be effective to the fullest,
mentally and physically. Massage work residing within these limits
can be very
therapeutic,
leaving you feeling
refreshed and renewed!
